Alarm Permit Tax
The Basics

A permit decal is required for any business or residence located in St Lucie County. You are required to submit an application for this decal prior to the installation or activation of an alarm system. They are renewable every two years. You should display the permit on a front door or window. If you sell your home, residence changes, or the business is sold the new owner must apply for his own permit. Permits are not transferable. If at any time you make any changes to the information regarding your application you will need to submit an amended application. When a decal is lost or destroyed you will need to complete the replacement form and submit a fee of $2.00.

Section 1-2.5-7;
The second and third false alarms require documentation of inspection/ modification of the alarm system to be provided to the responding agency
within 30 days.
Section 1-2.5-8;
A twenty dollar ($20.00) fee shall be charged if a false alarm occurs without a valid permit.
Section 1-2.5-10;
A ten dollar ($10.00) fee shall be charged to the alarm user by the county for each permit issued prior to installation or activation of an alarm system.
Section 1-2.5-13;
False Alarm Service Charges in any twelve (12) month period in
excess of three (3):
