Property Appraiser & Exemptions

Responsibilities

The St. Lucie County Property Appraiser is responsible for the preparation of the following:

  • Assessed owner's name and address, including address changes
  • Assessed value of property
  • The current Ad Valorem tax roll
  • First-time applications for homestead exemption and widow, widower or disability exemptions must be filed with the Property Appraiser by March 1st of the tax year.
  • The legal description of property.
  • Property tax exemptions, including homestead exemptions
  • Taxable value

No Longer Qualifying

You must notify the St. Lucie County Property Appraiser when you no longer qualify for any of the exemptions. You can visit the Property Appraiser's website or contact them by phone at 772-462-1000.
