Renew By Your Birthday
Happy birthday! Always remember to renew your vehicle registration and tag or vessel registration and decal on or before midnight on your birthday (or the expiration date indicated on your auto or boat registration). Auto and boat registrations are generally issued to expire annually on the birthday of the first owner listed on the registration.
This applies to:
- Light trucks under 5,000 pounds
- Motorcycles and boats.
- Passenger cars
- Recreational vehicles
- Small trailers
Exceptions
Exceptions include:
- Company-owned vehicles renewed in June
- Nine-passenger automobiles for hire that must be renewed in December
- Semi-trailers
- Some leased vehicles
- Truck-tractors
- Trucks over 5000 pounds
90 Days
Vehicle registrations and tags may be renewed 90 days prior to their expiration.
